Connecting to our Community

Bridgeway Church endeavors to be outward-focused building relationships with our neighbors, serving others, and connecting with other churches and organizations in the community.

What are some ways we have done this?

  • Many in our congregation have hosted neighborhood gatherings reaching out with the love of Christ in our neighborhoods, work places and other spheres of influence.
  • In December, 2007 our church body committed to helping a homeless women assisting her with rent, furnishings and walking alongside her spiritually.

Bridgeway is in the process of developing bridges with other local churches.

We have done this through…

  • ECLF Prayer gatherings: An opportunity to pray for and with other churches and pastors in Ames.
  • Joint services: We have held joint worship services with Body of Christ Worship Center (BCC) and Trinity Christian Reformed Church (TCRC).
  • Community musical: We joined with several other churches in the community to sponsor ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ in December, 2007. Connected to this event was a partnership between these churches and Habitat for Humanity to build a home in Ames for a needy family.
  • M.O.P.S : We sponsor the local Ames chapter of Mothers of Preschoolers which meets at our office building (Map & Directions). on the 2nd Tuesday of the month September - May, 7-9 pm. For more information about MOPS please call our office or go to: amesIowaMops@hotmail.com
  • Social Needs: Bridgeway has a partnership with ‘Good Neighbor’, a non-profit social agency that helps with emergency assistance to those in need. For more information about Good Neighbor call 515-296-1449.

Bridgeway is praying about and welcomes new outreach ministries as our mission is to reach out and connect people with the message of grace found in Jesus Christ.

College Ministry Connection

We are blessed to have many college students (including undergraduates, graduate students, veterinary students) as part of our church family. College students matter to us and are a vital part of the Iowa State and Ames communities as well as to the body of Bridgeway. There are many opportunities for students to be connected to grow in their faith and be connected through Bridgeway ministries, campus ministries and even local and world missions. We value the interactions between families, singles and college students as we learn and minister together.

Adopt-A-Student

College students have the opportunity to be ‘adopted’ by a Bridgeway family in a Home-Away-from Home Ministry. For more information about this, please call the church office at 515-268-1728 or email: office@bridgewayofames.org
